Crowdtesting – how to successfully expand the testing beyond the lab?
More features and better design are not enough any more. To attract users the companies need more, they need a truly flawless digital customer experience. As testers we’re very often limited by resources: we’re only a team of 5, we’ve got 10 devices in the lab and only 3 sim cards! And when you need to test a bank account integration, you need to go around the office asking various people to perform a “quick” test.
In my presentation I will show how crowdtesting can help solve these and other challenges. I will share my experience with the biggest crowdtesting provider, talk about some real customer cases and tell you how I manage the crowd as a Test Engineer.
Patryk is working as a software tester since 2013, starting as a game tester, currently focusing mostly on software testing. In the meantime, he started carrying out trainings and taking parts in crowdsourced projects, as a Tester, then as a Test Team Lead. Obecnie Test Engineer, who tries hard to make each and every “crowd” project a success, supporting teams up to 50 testers. He shares his insights in multiple articles and recently also on meetups (eg. GameDev Meetup in Latvia). Mobile apps tester by passion – he owns a device lab that consists of nearly 80 mobile devices – at the same time a big enemy of testing on emulators. Besides being a QA, owner of a big fansite dedicated to one of the best sandbox games – Minecraft.
